Typical Network Computer systems have the following
disadvantages:
- There is no one standard for Network Computer
systems. This has meant that they are not as common as they might
be. It has also limited the development of NC software.
- The speed at which data can be accessed by an NC
is limited to the speed of the Internet connection. This may limit
the ease with with large documents or multimedia can be written
and saved.
- NCs would not be portable in the way that a
laptop is, unless they also had a fast connection to the Internet.
